A native sedge commonly found in wet prairie meadows and along streams. With its densely clumped base and rhizomatic roots, it provides great erosion control. Birds of all types eat the seeds. Usually seeded in mixes. Sow on or near the surface. Best planted in fall.

Slough sedge is commonly found on the edges of streams and 

in ditches along side the road.
