This is a low-growing, perennial native grass. It is great for seasonal wetlands as it will withstand long periods of submersion as well as drought. Puddle ducks like to feed in this when flooded. Grows well with fragarant popcorn flower.
Planting Instructions: Use general ground prep method (click here).
Plant in the spring or fall. Drill 6 to 8 lbs per acre 1/4” deep or spin spread 10 lbs per acre. If spin spread, lightly harrow to cover seed. Either way roll if possible. Shortawn foxtail can be underwater for the winter. This will kill lots of unwanted weeds. If possible, apply 100-200 lbs of 46-0-0 fertilizer in spring.
